Naumi Vate

Naumi grew up in Georgia and spent some summers in Romania, where her family is from, which gave her a unique cultural perspective and a strong sense of the importance of understanding different backgrounds and experiences. She went to undergrad at the University of North Georgia, where she knew that she wanted to pursue a legal career so that she could help people make sense of legal matters, something that became even clearer during her time working in a legislator’s office. While there, Naumi often found herself on the phone with constituents who were frustrated with legal jargon in bills getting proposed. They would ask her to explain the law in a way that was easy to understand, but, at that time, she realized she could only read the bill or statute back to them. That experience affirmed her decision to attend law school, so she could be someone who is able to explain the law in a meaningful and accessible way, not just as a collection of statutes and policies.

Therefore, Naumi decided to attend Belmont University College of Law, where she had the privilege of serving as president of the Entertainment Law Society and she developed a strong passion for understanding the intricacies of law and justice.

Naumi is proud to be joining the Nashville team at HSGLaW. Her experiences, from interning with a pro bono team, to working with government relations, to working in criminal defense, has given her a well-rounded view of the law and a deep commitment to advocating for those who need it most.

Outside of law, you will probably find Naumi wakeboarding, horseback riding, or catching a show at TPAC. Naumi believes in working hard to serve our clients to the best of her ability. She is excited to bring that dedication to HSGLaW.
